Data Modeler

Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Software Architects to design the relational data structures required to support the object models for Java-based transactional/operational business applications. Work to ensure the data designs meet both the functional and performance requirements of the applications.
• Translate/replicate transactional data models to separate data models that are used to implement the transactional data structures in EHI’s Teradata Data Warehouse. Ensure that the transactional and data warehouse data models are kept in sync.
• Document all data models in SAP’s PowerDesigner modeling tool.
• Perform the deployment in the development environments of all DDL related to the data models.
• Work to ensure that all data design and data naming standards are followed.
• Work to minimize data duplication within and across business applications.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in data modeling and relational database design in support of OO based transactional/operational business applications.
• 3+ years experience developing data models using Power Designer or equivalent data modeling tool.
• Knowledge and experience supporting object/relational mapping frameworks such as Hibernate.
• Solid understanding of object oriented (OO) analysis and design concepts as well as OO related development methodologies, e.g. RUP, Agile, etc.
• Solid understanding and experience with SQL-DML
• Solid understanding and experience with physical DBMS concepts and constructs/objects, e.g. triggers, indexes, partitions, etc.
