Lead Solutions Architect, Big Data

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an innovative and results oriented technical leader in our newly formed Insurance Services area. This new area, focused on the development of products and services for various stakeholders throughout the accident management lifecycle, represents an opportunity for the right candidate to help drive the development of this new business line while also establishing a new and advanced technology platform. Specially, you will be involved with development of an integrated technology platform leveraging Iaas, PaaS and Big Data technologies.

As a Lead Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive high-level design, functionality, economics, architectural and security compliance of project solution options. You will collaborate with architects—systems, software, network, and enterprise—to bring together various requirements into one solution and represents business requirements as they relate to architectural design and implementation. You will also lead the identification and documentation of core requirements and translate requirements into specific systems, applications, and process designs. You will analyze technology/industry trends, the company’s current technology deployments, and recommend solutions to address complex and unique business requirements.

Qualifications:

Required
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
• Must possess a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business requirements engineering, solution architecture, design, development and deployment of large-scale business software solutions
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions/tools, specifically Hadoop and other BigData frameworks
• Must have proven experience in developing conceptual and physical solution architectures for solutions incorporating heterogeneous applications, technologies and platforms
• Must possess a broad set of technical skills and knowledge across hardware, software, systems and solutions development and across more than one technical domain
• Must have experience in data modeling, physical schema properties, triggers, stored procedures and ETL
• Must have proven analytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional data standardization requirements
• Must exhibit a leadership style that exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation
• Must have demonstrated strength in matrix management, team building and development of future leaders through coaching and mentoring
• Must possess strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills
Preferred
• Experience in deployment of a large distributed Big Data Application is strongly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of underlying infrastructure for Big Data Solutions (Clustered/Distributed Computing, Storage, Data Center Networking) is strongly preferred
• Experience architecting, designing, building and operating cloud-based solutions, experience in AWS is preferred
• Experience with IaaS and PaaS platforms, including architecture, design and implementation of solutions on these platforms is strongly preferred
• Experience in data warehouse architecture, data design and implementation, data quality management and data governance is strongly preferred
• Working know knowledge of metadata management, design and integration is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
